Marko and Missy (Melissa) Sosa opened the Terra Verde Coffeehouse in Chilton, WI six years ago on August 22, 2007. Two years later, they began roasting their own select beans.
After 4 years roasting, Terra Verde has established a cadre of expert coffee importers, most of whom have been selecting the best coffee for more than a hundred years.
“We continually search for the top of the top-of-the-line,” says Marko Sosa (pictured). “They send us samples of their finest selections and once we find one that we really like, we request at least 10 lbs. to start perfecting the roasting.”
Marko says anyone can roast coffee, but the secret lies in knowing how to adjust the time and temperature to reveal the maxim “sweet spot” in each specific variety.
The Terra Verde folks encourage you to experience the results of their gourmet roasting efforts at Greens N Grains Café on Friday, August 9 from 11 am to 5 pm. Marko will be featuring two hot coffees and two iced coffees for anyone to sample and enjoy, at no charge.
